Collection Spotlight highlights the Library of Parliament’s collection of rare books, art, artefacts and more. New Collection Spotlights are added regularly.
Collection items are selected for inclusion in our Collection Spotlight based on various criteria, including but not limited to their rarity, value, a unique instance of creation or acquisition, artistic beauty, and bibliographic or historical significance.
While exceptional for these reasons, the selections are also representative of the collection as a whole, frequently bringing into sharp focus the contexts and beliefs, including social and political, among others, which informed their creation and creator(s).
Inclusion in Collection Spotlight should not be understood to imply endorsement of the views expressed in an item, nor those of their creator(s).
