Prime Minister
In the simulation, you will:
- decide who will answer questions during Question Period and/or
- answer questions from the opposition
As Prime Minister, you are the head of the Government. You advise the Governor General on important issues, including the appointment of Senators, Cabinet Ministers and Supreme Court Justices. You also ask him or her to open and dissolve sessions of Parliament.
You are ultimately responsible for establishing your party’s positions, policies and legislative agenda, but you do so based on your discussions with Cabinet Ministers and other advisors. You have chosen your Cabinet based on their skills and qualifications, and also with the goal of ensuring fair representation of Canada’s diverse population.
You are also Canada’s main representative on the international scene. You are expected to attend world summits and to meet with foreign leaders.
