Our Information and Document Resource Services (IDRS) provides high-quality, substantive and timely information and documentation to Parliament and its staff by building, managing, preserving and optimizing access to the Library’s information assets.
We are currently looking for candidates to staff the following position: Senior Project Coordinator, Branches (LTVP).
The Long Term Vision and Plan (LTVP) is a multi-year program to restore and modernize Canada's Parliamentary Precinct. The Senior Project Coordinator, Branches (LTVP) is tasked with assessing site and building conditions and evaluating how best to accommodate evolving parliamentary requirements, tracking impacts on Library branches and confirming requirements for branches during and following construction, ensuring an ongoing secure working environment in impacted branches. This includes multiple infrastructure and planning projects across the parliamentary precinct that implicate branch services and branch spaces, including the Block 2 Rehabilitation project.

For the purposes of this selection process, the competencies listed in the attached Competency Profile will be evaluated.
NOTE: While this position is eligible for part-time telework, regular on-site presence is required at Library of Parliament workplaces located in the National Capital Region.
The following knowledge criteria will also be evaluated:
• Knowledge of the Long-Term Vision and Plan (LTVP) for the Parliamentary Precinct
• Knowledge of parliament and the Library of Parliament and the relationship between parliamentary partners (Senate, House of Commons and Library of Parliament)
• Knowledge of project management processes, quality control and best practices
• Knowledge of the management of library spaces and services
• Knowledge of negotiation theories, methods and techniques
To be considered, candidates must have:
• A Master's in Library and Information Studies (MLIS) from a recognized university, or an acceptable combination of education, training and relevant experience
• Significant* experience in the management of library spaces or services OR significant* experience in accommodations planning involving complex processes and multiple stakeholders
• Experience in partnership development and stakeholder relations and working in collaboration with internal and external program delivery partners
• Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously and dealing with various internal and external stakeholders, including acting as a representative for the institution/organization
• Experience in project reporting, including developing risk analyses, mitigation strategies, and briefings for senior management
*Significant experience is defined as being one in which the person’s primary responsibilities include these duties and refers to the depth and breadth as well as complexity of tasks that could be expected to have been obtained by carrying out the functions for at least three (3) years.
Candidates retained in this selection process will be required to obtain:
• A successful second-language evaluation (Bilingual staffing – imperative: CBC/CBC)
• A successful pre-employment screening
Additional Information:
• This selection process is open to employees of the Library of Parliament.
• This selection process will include a second-language evaluation, an interview and may also include a written qualifying exam. The interview will consist of behavioural, situational and knowledge-based questions. Candidates will be required to pass each stage in order to move to the next stage of the selection process.
• Qualified candidates from this selection process may be considered for determinate or indeterminate positions at the Library of Parliament that require similar knowledge and/or competencies.
• On 20 June 2022, the vaccination requirement for employees of the Library of Parliament established by the Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination was suspended. The Library of Parliament will continue to follow the situation closely, and should the epidemiological conditions change, we will assess whether there is a need to reinstate the vaccination policy and the associated essential condition of employment applicable to indeterminate, determinate, student and intern hiring.
• Education and experience requirements will be used to determine which candidates will be asked to participate in the next stage of the selection process.
