Leader of the Opposition in the Senate
In the simulation, you will:
- point out flaws in the bill presented for second reading
- pose questions to the Government during Question Period, and/or
- lead the Opposition during the meeting of the Committee of the Whole
Your main role is to lead the Opposition in debate on Government bills, motions and other items on the Order Paper, and to coordinate the Opposition's daily activities.
Just as the Leader of the Government in the Senate leads the governing party's Senators, you are the leader of all Senators from the Official Opposition. You meet with your colleagues regularly to discuss your policies and positions.
Your position automatically makes you a member of all Senate committees.
